Final Day 11 April 1999 Wembley Stadium, London     T he final match of the 1999 season's Five Nations rugby championship was played at Wembley Stadium on the 11 April. While England hoped for a victory to claim their fourth Grand Slam of the 1990s, Wales' ambition was to build on their recent win against France at Paris. The Wembley crowd was entertained by two visiting Welshmen: Max Boyce led with his 'Hymns and Arias', and Tom Jones sang 'Delilah'. The final score, to the delight of the Wales supporters, was 31 - 32 to Wales, with Neil Jenkins converting Scott Gibbs' try in the closing minutes.
